Important, in this case, is a <strong>great learning ability <\/strong>and <strong>strong work ethic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To work as a consultant, it is best to have several important characteristics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>High absorbency<\/strong>: quickly process a lot of and complex information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Organized<\/strong>: to set up a structured process, you must also be organized yourself.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Independence<\/strong>: being able to plan well and dare to make decisions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Strong communication<\/strong>: concise and clear communication and good listening.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Solution orientated<\/strong>: perseverance and creativity in finding solutions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Patience<\/strong>: you learn as you go, enjoy discovering different paths.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Connecting<\/strong>: the right people at the right place.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Flexibility<\/strong>: regular change of working environment, working with different people.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Curiosity and eagerness to learn:<\/strong> being up to date with the latest developments, wanting to delve into the organization \u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Not all the skills, but you want to work as a consultant? This is certainly possible! As a consultant you will learn <strong>\u2018on the job\u2019<\/strong> and develop skills in a short time. Training can also be used to teach skills. As a consultant, you quickly develop different <strong>hard skills<\/strong>. If you really want to be successful, it would be best to also train your <strong>soft skills<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Working as a consultant has some <strong>disadvantages<\/strong>. As a consultant you <strong>work everywhere and nowhere<\/strong>. You will always roll from one project to another project, which can be quite debilitating. You must be able to <strong>handle pressure<\/strong> well, as <strong>expectations<\/strong> are high. Both the consulting company and the client count on your responsibility. These disadvantages do not outweigh the <strong>advantages<\/strong>. As a consultant, you can <strong>develop skills<\/strong> in the short term. Because you meet different companies and people, you will be able to <strong>build a large network<\/strong>.
